Résumé :

In this workshop, we discuss the ethics of studying sexual violence by means of archival material kept at AVG-CARHIF, the Belgian Archive and Research Centre for Women's History. We will look at documents from the 1970s and 1980s, kept in the archives of Moniek Darge, a survivor-activist who founded the organisation 'Vrouwen tegen verkrachting' (Women against Rape). We will try to elucidate the methodological specificities of oral history by comparing different kinds of material, and pay attention to the ethical issues which are at stake when using these sources.
