| Résumé : | Le dictionnaire nautique trilingue "De la quille à la pomme de mât" (anglais, français, allemand) a été rédigé à fin du XIXe siècle et a connu une très importante diffusion. Son auteur, le capitaine Heinrich PAASCH, décrit de manière systématique le vocabulaire du navire et des activités maritimes. L'étude tente de reconstituer la méthode terminographique suivie par l'auteur et conduit à montrer que les principes notionnels et descriptifs qui semblent avoir présidé à l'élaboration du dictionnaire annoncent les développements de la discipline terminologique au XXe siècle. La modernité de la gestion de l'équivalence entre termes de langues distinctes et l'originalité des méthodes de classement préfigurent la création des bases de connaissances terminologiques.The trilingual nautical dictionary "From the keel to the masthead" (English, French, German) was written at the end of the 19th century and was very widely disseminated. Its author, Captain Heinrich PAASCH, systematically describes the vocabulary of the ship and maritime activities. The study attempts to reconstitute the terminographic method followed by the author and shows that the conceptual and descriptive principles which seem to have governed the elaboration of the dictionary foreshadow the developments of the terminological discipline in the 20th century. The modernity of the management of equivalence between terms of different languages and the originality of the classification methods foreshadow the creation of terminological knowledge bases. |
