Résumé : | The Jules Bordet Institute has an oncology intensive care unit (ICU) for over 40 years. It is the source of important clinical research, reviewed in this article under different aspects: descriptive statistics, prognosis, life support techniques, specific complications, particular groups of cancer patients, anticancer treatments, therapeutic limitations and ethical aspects, oncological emergencies, teaching. The transfer of the Institute to a new building will allow this work to continue thanks to improved capacity. |
