Résumé : Despite longstanding controversy, borderline personality disorder in adolescence is a scientifically proven diagnosis with an estimated prevalence of 0.9-3 %. Despite the fact that it can persist into adulthood, this disorder has a major impact on quality of life because it is frequently associated with risk behaviors and other psychiatric conditions. That is the reason why it is important for health professionals to be trained in the early detection of this disorder in adolescents. In order to reduce associated stigma, this review of the literature aims to provide a global vision of borderline disorder in adolescence by allowing a better understanding of the developmental mechanisms of this pathology and current management.
