Résumé : Electrophysiological techniques applied to the alert human subject can provide a useful method of assessing the behavioural correlates ofselected brain mechanisms. For example, the co-operating normal human volunteer can be asked to execute a wide range of voluntary movements whilst the experimenter explores motor control parameters under conditions that preserve the entire range of normal physiological interactions. Here, John Desmedt describes some of his recent work on the control of individual muscle units during voluntary movement.
