Résumé : Over the last decades, evangelical communities have gained outsized power of influence within the United States. By recognising Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel in December 2017, Donald Trump has satisfied his electoral base while reasserting his leadership in the international fight against Evil. That decision should be analysed through the prism of a rooted ideology filled with theological references rather than the widely shared assumption of the President's madness. We are witnessing the advent of a political evangelism. The Jerusalem case strengthens the relevance of the approach of a powerful evangelical leverage on U.S. foreign policy.
