| Résumé : | The circumcision consists, in its most widespread form, in the total or partial ablation of the prepuce, so the penis gland will be uncovered. It is mainly practiced for cultural and religious motives, but also for therapeutic or preventive reasons or since recently, to help in the prevention of AIDS in Africa. In the case of surgical indication, the term used is "posthectomy" In this article, we expose the comments of the experts, the data of the judicial survey and the decision of the law court about a dramatic case of the death of an Ivorian young person in the fall of a circumcision realized under general anesthesia, and entirely realized by a graduate of state anesthesia specialist. The anaesthetist-resuscitator was considered guilty of certifying wrongly and of supplying deceitful indications on the cause of death in order to favour somebody. © 2010. |
