Résumé : Although osteoporosis is generally considered as a disease affecting essentially aged women after menopause, it can occur at any age, and it also affects occasionally premenopausal women. All etiological and risk factors that induce bone loss after menopause may also result in premenopausal osteoporosis. Premenopausal osteoporosis may also result from reproductive pathologies such as amenorrhea. Among the major causes are anorexia nervosa, hyperprolactinemia, drug induced amenorrhea by GnRH analogs. One should aim at treating the underlining disorder.
