Spinoza dans Althusser. Présence et effets du spinozisme dans l'oeuvre de Louis Althusser

Résumé :

Nous abordons l'oeuvre d'Althusser comme une philosophie qui considère toute philosophie comme un détour. Dans le but de redécouvrir la philosophie de Marx, Althusser fait un détour par l'oeuvre de Spinoza, ce qui l'amène à la recontrer à propos de plusieurs thématiques: la critique de l'humanisme, la théorie de la lecture, la théorie de la causalité structurale, la théorie de la conjoncture et le matérialisme aléatoire. Chacune de ces rencontres produit chez Althusser des usages différents de Spinoza et des perspectives différentes sur l'oeuvre de l'auteur de l'Éthique. Deux grands thèmes transversaux ont vertébré notre thèse: la question de l'action politique et celle de la topique. Althusser essaie de libérer l'action politique par rapport au cadre déterministe stalinien au moyen d'un dispositif original qui soumet la théorie marxiste de la détermination à la théorie spinoziste de la réflexivité de l'idée. La théorie se voit elle-même dans le cadre de ce dispositif comme une force sociale et historique. Spinoza, relu à travers Machiavel, deviendra ainsi un des auteurs de référence du matérialisme aléatoire, qui est le dernier mot d'Althusser en matière de libération du champ de l'action éthique et politique.

[English] We approach Althusser's work as a philosophy that considers all philosophy as a detour. In order to rediscover the philosophy of Marx, Althusser makes a detour through the work of Spinoza, which leads him to meet this philosopher on several themes: the critique of humanism, the theory of reading, the theory of structural causality, the theory of conjuncture and aleatory materialism. Each of these encounters produces different uses of Spinoza by Althusser's and different perspectives on the work of the author. of the Ethics Two major transversal themes vertebrate our thesis: political action topography. Althusser tries to liberate political action from the Stalinist deterministic framework by means of an original theoretical device that subjects the Marxist theory of determination to the Spinozist theory of the reflexivity of the idea. The theory itself becomes within the framework of this device a social and historical force. Spinoza, reread through Machiavelli, will thus become one of the reference authors of aleatory materialism, which is Althusser's last word in terms of liberation of political and ethical practice.
