Résumé : Several pure optical processing methods have been investigated in order to improve the quality of images from a military environment Two methods proved unsuitable from the military viewpoint: the well know Vander Lugt matched filter and the classical spatial filtering by a 4f system with coherent illumination. On the other hand, two other methods gave encouraging results: pseudocolour encoding of spatial frequencies and cryptography by means of a double aberrating medium.
