Résumé : During the Cold War, a network of American and European friends and colleagues ‘co-conspired’ to further the cause of European integration! Informal contacts among these ‘Europeanists’, as we shall call them, played a central role in the diplomacy surrounding United Kingdom (UK) relations with the Six in the early years of the European Economic Community (EEC), and during the first negotiations for British entry into the European Communities.
