Résumé : Radiotherapy uses the properties of ionizing radiation to treat mainly cancers. It was introduced soon after the discovery of X-rays by Roentgen and radium by Marie Curie at the end of the nineteenth century. Over the years, the technique has evolved due to major technical developments, due to better machines, powerful computers, and a better knowledge of the interaction between radiation and matter. Nowadays, it remains a major component in the treatment of lung cancer and is a major part in the multidisciplinary management of this disease.
