| Résumé : | Introduction This chapter covers the developments of two of the most successful Green parties in Europe: Ecolo and Groen. 1 The two parties have gained access to governmental positions at federal and regional levels. They have been able, at least for the French-speaking Ecolo, to stabilise around 10 to 15 per cent of the electorate. They both have developed a stable organisation that has helped them to persist for about 30 years now. In terms of programme, they have exerted a considerable and effective infl uence on the political agenda, imposing their core issues such as climate change and sustainable development, but also other topics like gender parity in politics, political transparency and democratic renewal. |
