Résumé : | A report is presented on the results of a study of 80 cases of hypertrophy of the prostate at all stages, (13 retentions with indwelling catheter) treated by MAP (acetate of medroxyprogesterone) given intramuscularly and by mouth, and followed-up for a minimum of 3 months. Seven patients were withdrawn from the study as they had not completed the treatment. The response to this was: 31.5% bad results; 22.3% medium results; 45.2 good results. If the group of patients without bladder retention is considered, the response is: 18.0% bad results; 28.0% medium results; 53.3% good results. This treatment may be considered as an acquisition in the medical treatment of prostatic adenoma at a non-advanced stage. |
