Résumé : Lucien Lison (1907-1924) is considered as the " father of histochemistry ". He began his career at the University Libre de Bruxelles, in the department of histology. He published a large number of works about histochemistry, including a successfull textbook. In 1953, he was invited by the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirâo Presto (University of São Paulo, Brazil) to rule the local department of histology. He pursued his work and ended his career in Brazil.
