Résumé : Critically examines the nature of European agricultural statistics as sources of evidence on employment, and then traces the decline in agricultural labour in each of the countries during the 1960s and 1970s. The significance of agricultural employment varies greatly from region to region the rate of decline also varies, but has tended to slow down since the mid-1970s. -H.Clout
