Résumé : | Among lysogenic Escherichia coli strains isolated from human faeces, several were found to produce bacteriophages capable of transducing tryptophan genes. One of them, phiγ, was studied further. In spite of unusual transduction properties, phiγ is genetically related to phi80 specifically with regard to the prophage integration. |
