Acetabular measurements in normal children and Perthes' disease at the onset of the affection and during the course of the illness

Résumé :

A simple radiological procedure to evaluate the acetabular depth in the growing hip, is proposed. These measurements were applied to 600 normal hip radiographies, and a standard curve, reflecting the deepening of the acetabulum in normal boys and girls is established. The same parameter was studied in 91 cases of unilateral Perthes' disease, in the affected and the non-affected hip, at the onset and during disease, and its significance is discussed.
