Résumé : | The author reviews the various causes of senile disability and their consequences on both the physical and the psychological levels. The success of rehabilitation rests upon the following conditions: careful check up, constant medical supervision, early occupational therapy and physiotherapy psychological attitude of attendants as well as surrounding people. Such a rehabilitation may be realized only within a well structured medicosocial organization, centered on a rehabilitation service, with available extensions such as home nursing, day centres, centres for chronical conditions and homes for valid retired people. |
