Résumé : Major technological development has let during the last decades to major improvements in chest radiotherapy leading to go from 2D to 4D radiotherapy and to image guided radiotherapy. This was only possible by the technological progress made in the radiation delivery but also to the availability of a high quality imaging not only anatomical, functional but also metabolic. Beside there has been also a better knowledge of the disease and the radiation effect on the tumour and normal tissues. The present paper will try to review the different technique available but also those currently in the evaluation process. By definition, the radiation technique is only a tool in the multidisciplinary approach of a patient suffering from lung cancer.
