Résumé : 23 normal subjects were submitted to light, moderate and heavy work, performed in a continuous noise (80-110 dB). The study was divided into two parts: the first one was accomplished on the bicycle ergometer in the laboratory (300 or 450 kpm/min; 750 kpm/min and maximum load); the second part was carried out in the factory during the daily work. Each subject was studied both in a noisy atmosphere and in a sound-proofroom. Heart rate, systolic blood pressure, oxygen intake, ventilation, respiratory equivalent for oxygen and respiratory quotient were measured at each intensity of effort as well in the laboratory as in the factory. No significant differences were found for those parameters registered in noise or not. © 1971 Springer-Verlag.
