| Résumé : | The gas‐phase cis‐trans isomerization of 1, 3‐pentadiene photosensitized by benzaldehyde has been studied at λ = 365.5 nm and 60° in the pressure range 50 to 400 torr. From the observed quantum yields and the photostationary state it can be concluded that benzaldehyde transfers its triplet energy at the same rate to both cis‐ and trans‐1, 3‐pentadiene with high efficiency.
