Résumé : | The authors take as their starting point for a study of cutaneous and mucosal disorders caused by working with certain tropical woods an epidemiological survey carried out in the wood-working industry in Belgium. They draw attention to the specificity of the jobs available with a firm in which they were able to show the connection between cutaneo-mucosal disorders and exposure to the dust of 12 tropical species. The difficulty of identifying these species accurately is pointed out. Finally they mention the dermato-allergic research projects which have been undertaken with a view to determining the allergenic role of the dusts of other tropical species. © 1973 Expansion Scientifique Française. |
