Résumé :

The diagnosis of invasion of the carotid axis preo-peratively is extremely helpful and determines the therapeutic approach as well as the prognosis for patients with tumours of the upper aerodigestive tract. A review of literature to refine the radiological choice between the different existing techniques is provided. It appears that echography gives excellent results.
