Résumé : | Dielectric constants and loss factors have been measured for dilute solutions of methyl poly‐methacrylates in toluene and benzene. The molecular weight varied from 14.000 to 1.750.000, the frequencies used ranged from 0.1 to 35 megacycles, the temperatures from −30° to 25°C. It has been shown that: The critical frequency and the free energy of activation were practically independant of the degree of polymerisation. The entropy of activation was small and negative. The static dielectric constant was, for a given concentration, independant of molecular weight. The mean quadratic dipole moment was proportional to the square root of the molecular weight of the polymer. Copyright © 1955 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim |
