| Résumé : | Somatic embryogcncsis in plant tissue culture has been described for 20 years and the papers published about this subject are more and more numerous. It is useful, for a better understanding of somatic embryogenesis, to bring it together with zygotic embryo culture at more or less juvenile stages and polyembryony, and with apomictic and nucellar embryos. The interest taken in somatic embryology is enlarged to many useful species with a view to promoting their vegetative propagation.
