Résumé :

After a reminder chat the behaviours of metals and alloys which are susceptible to corrosionin aqueous media are related to the measured electrode-potential, an exposition is given of the special position occupied by methods for the study and control of corrosion based on the measurement and interpretation of these potentials. Various fields of application of these methods are then reviewed and scientific data and instances of industrial application are given for each of the following: cathodic protection; corrosion-resistant alloys; corrosion inhibitors; water treatment; anodic protection; miscellaneous procedures. © 1965 Pergamon Press Ltd.
