Résumé : Two isonitrile sesquiterpenes 2 and 3 have been isolated from the toxic dichloromethane extract of the marine sponge Acanthella acuta. Compound 2 was found to be identical with axisonitrile‐3. compound 3, 1‐isocyanoaromadendrane, is a novel sesquiterpene whose structure has been determined on the basis of its spectral properties and by chemical correlation with palustrol.
