Résumé : G.W. Leibniz addresses the issue of reality in different ways according to the objects that are considered. One way relates to the characterisation of mental contents (realitas), another to the distinction between real (realia) and imaginary phenomena, and a third one to the real foundation of phenomena in things (res). But in all those reflections, as diverse as they are, Leibniz constantly refers the same set of criteria in order to ‘estimate’ reality, namely: by considering its variety, its change and its order. This article examines various instances of what Leibniz himself calls the ‘estimation of reality’.
