| This article explains why translation project management skills are useful for freelance translators. It discusses the freelancer's role as their own project manager when dealing directly with clients, as well as their role within larger translation projects managed by agencies or other organisations. It highlights the importance of planning, quoting, scheduling, coordination and communication, and shows how a better understanding of project management can improve efficiency, profitability and collaboration between translators and project managers. |
