Résumé : | A tetradrachm with the types of Lysimachus and reputed to have been struck at Lysimachia after his death has been clearly overstruck on a rare tetradrachm of Antiochus Soter (a horsehead adorned with horns). It is likely that this tetradrachm has been overstruck with the aim to erase the images of Antiochus at a time when the city of Lysimachia would have been included in the "North League", an alliance of cities which fought against the extension of Seleucid power in the area after the death of Lysimachus at Corupedium. |
