| Résumé : | LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) couples and parented families were often neglected by family and couple systems theory and practice. This inattention is mostly rooted in homophobia,heterocentrism and heteronormativity that influenced dominant definitions of "healthy" and "functional" relationships. Whether we are researchers or clinicians, it is interesting to consider the impact of these stressors. Especially in the clinical contexts, it seems important to assess the degree of minority stress, relational ambiguity and social support in order to address the LGBT unique challenges. In this presentation, we will discuss these challenges and through clinical vignettes we will underline the importance of an eco-systemic approach and the creation of new possibilities to be and to do a couple and a family. |
