Résumé : The infra‐red solvent‐shift method has been used in order to determine the carbon halogen stretching vibrations (ν (C‐Hal)) in the I.R. spectra of cyclo‐octane chloride, bromide and iodide. This procedure leads to the attribution of six carbon‐halogen stretching bands in the spectrum of each compound. The conformational implications of these results are discussed.
