Résumé : A general analysis has been applied to kinetic data pertaining to nucleophilic substitution reactions of various mechanisms. It has been shown that polar effects are transmitted through carbon‐carbon triple bonds as well as through double bonds, provided both pairs of orbitals can be used in the former. However, monoplanar transmitting capacity of the triple bond is smaller. Copyright © 1959 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
