Résumé : | The static dielectric constant of CCl4, CH3CCl3 and their mixtures has been measured in the liquid region between −20 and +20°C. Applying the Onsager‐Kirkwood theory and extrapolating to infinite dilution we found 1.73 ± 0.03 debye for the permanent dipole moment of the CH3CCl3 molecule. A weak tendency for parallel alignment of the dipolar molecules was observed for concentrated mixtures in CH3CCl3. Copyright © 1967 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim |
