| Résumé : | Summary ‐The author studied by the thermogravitational method the variation of the Soret coefficient with the chain length of polyethylenglycols derivatives in benzenic solution. It is seen that the Soret coefficient tends towards a constant value as soon as the number of carbon atoms exceeds 16. An extension of the kinetic theory of thermodiffusion in the liquid phase enables the interpretation of this experimental result in connecting the Soret coefficient with the difference of density of cohesion of both constituents.
