Résumé : | The dark conductivity of the tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) salt of poly (1‐butyl‐2‐vinylpyridinium)/polystyrene copolymer in the presence of various amounts of neutral TCNQ has been measured using the four‐point probe technique. The activation energy to electrical conduction is obtained between +2 and +35°C. The quantum yield of carrier collection under irradiation at 360‐370 nm is 10−2. It appears that the samples examined are not suitable for light into electricity conversion: to decrease the resistivity of the films, large quantities of neutral TCNQ have to be added to the polymer which has for effect to decrease the apparent band gap of the material to values much smaller than the ideal value (1,2‐1.5 eV).
