Résumé : | Chemical analysis of water in the main ponds within the ecosystem of the city of Brussels showed that the Ca content is significantly elevated and that the conductivity (eutrophic water) is very high. In some cases, the Pb content is relatively elevated (up to 55 ppb), and is presumed to originate from urban pollution. Much of the Pb appeared to be stopped at the aquatic plant level and is not thought to accumulate significantly through the food chains. Some quantities of Pb, Fe, Cu, and Zn, however, were found to accumulate in fish scales and skeletons. |
