Résumé : A report is given of the development of the microchemical instruction and the scientific research work in the field of microchemistry at the University of Brussels. In addition to the university course, a Centre de Microchimie was created, which - supported by 20 of the most important Belgian industrial concerns - has the task of advancing microchemistry in Belgium. The methods and procedures taught in regular courses in this institution are mentioned. Before the war, its scientific activity comprised especially the methods of organic microanalysis, whereas after 1945 the chief activities dealt with the chromatographic qualitative and quantitative separation of inorganic cations. © 1951 Springer-Verlag.
