Résumé : In the Sveconorwegian Province of S Norway, most geochronological data are in the range 1200-900Ma. Several deformation events associated with metamorphic episodes have been identified. The paroxysm of the metamorphism has been dated at 1050-1000Ma. Evidence of a pre-Sveconorwegian basement (1500-1800Ma?) is well established in the E part of the mobile belt while in the W part (Rogaland-Agder) only few ages older than 1200Ma have been reported. Intrusions of magmatic rocks took place at different periods during the tectonometamorphic history. Late-to-post-tectonic (980-900Ma) magmatic activity is represented by the intrusions of granitic plutons in the whole Sveconorwegian Province and by the large anorthositic bodies in the Rogaland district.-Authors
