Résumé : We present an alternative to the standard model with unitary gauge group U(N)p and chiral fermions in bifundamentals. Although the construction allows scalars in adjoints and bifundamentals, only models without adjoint scalars have strikingly, without supersymmetry, absence of one-loop quadratic divergence in the scalar propagator. Decisive support for these ideas could arise from new experimental results anticipated at the LHC proton collider. © 2005 The American Physical Society.
