Résumé : This study shows that nickel nanocrystals undergo surface reconstruction under thermal treatment (650K-750K). The morphological changes depend essentially on the applied temperature and consists in an extension of the stable facets ({111} facets). The reconstructions assisted by CO was not clearly observed under the reported experimental conditions. It has been shown that the adsorbed CO promotes the ionization of gaseous speces during imaging strongly suggesting an on-top adsorption of CO molecules over ledge and kink sites.
