| Résumé : | The ill-formed paradosis of Manilius 5.87 has been corrected in very different ways by Bentley, Rossberg, Housman, Goold, and Flores. None of these emendations is satisfactory. Syntax and sense are restored if one edits cumque libebit, equum ludetper terga uolantum, which allows accounting for the corruption of the line. |
