In his paperCycles for the dynamical study of foliated manifoldsand complex manifolds, Denis Sullivan proves that a closed man-ifold supports a symplectic structure if and only if it admits adistribution of cones of bivectors that satisfies two conditions. Weprove a similar result for contact structures.
