Résumé : A study is presented which compares different methods of evaluating the quality of nursing care. Four methods are reviewed; nursing audit; qualpacs, quality patients care scale; Rush medicus or 'monitoring the quality of nursing care'; Criterion measures of nursing care developed by Horn and Swain. An outline of each of these is given. Which one is selected will depend on a variety of factors, including management objectives and size of the institution; available time for start-up; investment resources and time required for corrective action.
