Résumé : The authors studied the endocrine effects of dogmatil and tiapride-induced hyperprolactinemia on menstrual cycles of volunteers. When hyperprolactinemia is induced after the LH surge the cycle is virtually unchanged. The luteal phase is shortened by one or two days. Hyperprolactinemia induced from the first day of the cycle produces more significant effects (suppression or abnormality of ovulation). Physiologic and pathologic hyperprolactinemias are also associated with menstrual cycle abnormalities. Changes in sex hormones are consistently observed. The authors hypothesize an influence of prolactin on the central nervous system.
