Résumé : Macroamylasemia is a rare cause of benign persistently elevated amylasemia. Nevertheless, it should be early recognized by the clinician to limit the number of investigations and the hospitalisation of patients with such a biochemical anomaly. An amylase-creatinine clearance ratio below 1% is indicative of macroamylasemia. Unequivocal identification requires the demonstration of a macromolecular amylase complex in serum by an electrophoresis or a column chromatography.
