Examines general aspects of the AIDS phenomena and traces trends of diffusion from central Africa to the USA, W. Europe and Asia. Histories of diffusion among gays, drug users, bisexuals, tourists and the heterosexual population are examined. Belgium is particularly concerned with AIDS by virtue of its history of migration and medical links with its former Congo colony, Zaire. -H.Clout
