Résumé : A description is given of an early retrograde opacification of the portal branches in a case of cirrhosis of the liver. This phenomenon, well known in angiography, is generally attributed to a portal backflow of sinusoidal blood. The authors interpret these pictures in the light of microangiographic tests and microscopy in vivo. The most likely explanation for portal backflow seems to them to be a directly arterio portal presinusoidal shunt.
