Résumé : | Plasma exchange (PE) in Refsum's disease is associated with a rapid decrease in plasma phytanic acid levels. Its use in conjunction with a low phytanic acid diet is associated with a stabilization of the neurological picture of the disease and with an improvement in the kidney and liver function. Our data suggest that PE is able to mobilize the tissue burden of phytanic acid. |
